The morning of our last day in Islamorada, FL the storm clouds were beginning to roll in. There was thin gap at the horizon that let the sun peak through as it rose. This image has been processed as a High Dynamic Range (HDR) photo using Photomatix and a little tweeking and croping using Photoshop. The three photos taken to create this image were taken on March 18th from our hotel room.Sunday, March 22, 2009

Long Road Home

We left the Keys this morning and made a side trip to the Everglades National Park. We went to Flamingo, FL to the Flamingo Visitor Center. The lodge and most everything else had been wiped out by a hurricane and they were busy demolishing it. It is about 38 miles from Florida City to Flamingo and the road takes you right through the heart of the lower everglades. This photo was taken Wednesday, March 18th from the middle of road looking back to the SW at a passing shower. This very long road was not traveled very much any longer. Reminded me of the storms we face ahead of use.

This was my dinner. It was very good but it would not stop smiling at me.

Sunset on Florida Bay. Photo taken just off of Key Largo on the Florida Bay side on Monday, March 16th.
